Friends, family, internet strangers, welcome to my (sadly, second attempt) Psoriasis blog! I look forward to sharing my experiences, tips, hacks, and anything else that I have learned since 2005 when I was diagnosed with Psoriasis!
First, lets start with who I am. My name is Krista and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I live by the ocean with my amazing husband and my two beautiful black kitties. I enjoy horseback riding, hanging out with my family, and eating potato chips.
In 2005, when my body started changing, so did my skin. I was diagnosed with Psoriasis, and a few years later in 2012 I developed Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA). For those of you who are not 100% sure, Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that causes a build of of skin cells characterized as red, scaly, patchy spots over the body. There are a few different kinds of Psoriasis, the most common being plaque Psoriasis, which I have. PsA affects the joints, particularly fingers, toes, knees, and elbows, all of which I have, plus some… PsA affects a small percentage of people with Psoriasis, and of course I was lucky enough to be part of that percentile.
I have tried almost any medication, remedy, natural resource, and “hack” I could get my hands on. There are so many things that I have found that work (for me at least) and that don’t work.
I can’t wait to share with everyone my experiences!
